– “Guardian of the Walls” Operation Questioned:
The Israeli military operation, known as “Guardian of the Walls” from five years ago, portrayed as a significant victory resulting in the deaths of hundreds of Hamas militants and the destruction of their tunnel system, may not have attained its advertised outcomes. Unnamed sources within the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) hinted at the failure of the operation. It was intended to mislead Hamas militants into the group’s Metro tunnel system and then bomb them, however, reportedly failed.
– Lack of Israeli Presence in Gaza:
In reality, no Israeli soldiers entered Gaza during the operation – a detail that, in retrospect, could have tipped off Hamas and led to the evacuation of the tunnels. The ISIS military tactic without a physical presence apparently fell short of the proclaimed success.
– Lieberman Reshapes Party:
In an interesting turn in Israeli politics, Avigdor Lieberman, the leader of the Yisrael Beiteinu party – historically representing immigrants from the former Soviet Union – is making strides to attract a wider demographic segment in the forthcoming elections. This demographic maneuver includes inviting figures from the religious Zionist movement and residents from peripheral areas in an attempt to augment the party’s voter base.
– Effort to Attract Homeless Voters:
The party is especially aiming to appeal to voters who are politically homeless due to the alliance between Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid, along with those who prefer not to support Likud and find finance minister Bezalel Smotrich too extreme. The primary objective, according to the party, is not to estrange current supporters but to extend its tent.
– Potential Joint Attack on Iran:
On an international scope, reports suggest a budding alliance between the United States, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates for a planned joint attack on Iran. According to inside sources, this proposed attack is envisaged mainly to disable the Iranian regime, and orchestrate a significant disruption in the country’s infrastructure like energy, petroleum, communication, and national-security systems.
– Aligning against the Iranian Regime:
The attack plan that is presumed to be ready for execution allegedly holds the potential to provoke a civil uprising in Iran, particularly if co-led by a Muslim nation. These allied forces hope that their combined offensive could critically destabilize Iran’s ruling regime.
