– Shifting US Perspective on Israel:

According to the Pew Institute, Israel’s standing among US citizens has sharply declined over the past two decades, with the past three years seeing a significant drop. Currently, six out of every ten Americans view Israel negatively; this figure includes 41% of Republicans. Analysts posit that this shift stems from Israel’s alignment with far-right groups globally under the Netanyahu administration, a move that has not sat well, particularly with America’s younger generation.

– Concern over Potential Blockade:

Israel’s security agencies are closely monitoring Yemen’s Houthi rebels due to fears of a blockade at the Bab al-Mandab Strait, a high-traffic maritime route. A blockade would disrupt international trade and potentially harm Israel’s economy. Consequently, Israeli officials are liaising with the US and countries across Europe, Africa, and the region to create a united front against this probable threat.

– Delay in Italy-Israel Defense Agreement:

Italy’s Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, has postponed the renewal of the defense agreement between Italy and Israel because of the persistent Middle East conflicts. The agreement, initially signed in 2005 and auto-renewing every five years, facilitates trade and promotes military research and development.

– Israel-Serbia Drone Collaboration:

Israel and Serbia have recently unveiled a collaboratively-conceived project to create thousands of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Israel will leverage its extensive field expertise, while Serbia supplies production and development infrastructure. Serbia has big plans to acquire about 80,000 drones in the next two years.

– The IDF’s Alert on Possible Attacks:

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have warned of a potential uptick in rocket attacks from Lebanon. The IDF has asked citizens, particularly those near the northern border, to stay alert and heed Home Front Command instructions. While the IDF is prepared for any scenario, they remain committed to eliminating threats and restoring security.

– Spain’s PM Slams Israel and the US:

Spain’s Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, has directly implicated Israel and the US in violating international law and exacerbating Middle East conflicts. While also acknowledging Iran’s unlawful response, Sánchez underscored the need to return to the principles of international law as the only means of ensuring future growth, a view strongly supported by Spain.
