– Houthi Commitment to Palestinian Cause:

Despite news of a prospective ceasefire and hostage exchange agreement in Gaza, Yemen’s Houthi rebels remain dedicated to the Palestinian cause. Houthi politburo member, Mohammed Al-Faraj confirmed their ongoing commitment to alleviate Palestinian suffering and hinted at potential Houthi involvement in future conflicts between Israel and Palestine, regardless of any impending cease-fire.

– Accusations Against Itamar Ben-Gvir:

Nizar Nassar, the Mayor of Arraba, has condemned Itamar Ben-Gvir’s allegedly discriminatory practices, stating that they have encouraged crime rates to soar in Arab sectors. Ben-Gvir stands accused of ordering arbitrary arrests of Arab citizens, prohibition of demonstrations, and unauthorized interrogations, which Nassar says are directly aimed at criminalizing and alienating the Arab community.

– Historic Gaza Ceasefire:

President Donald Trump announced the first stage of a historic ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, overseen by Qatar, Egypt and Turkey. The agreement is anticipated to close nearly two years of conflict and is scheduled to result in the release of 20 captives. While official confirmation detailing specifics is yet to arrive, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed gratitude to Trump for his role in establishing the agreement.

– US Aid to Israel Under Trump:

According to research by Brown University, the US has spent $32 billion in aid to Israel over the last two years. Investment decreased dramatically in the second year of the conflict, coinciding with President Trump’s term, with spending ranging from $8.5 to $11 billion.

– US Government Shutdown Continues:

The US government shutdown, triggered by disputes over “Obamacare” health insurance subsidies, has entered its second week. Tensions have increased following the deployment of hundreds of National Guard soldiers in Chicago. President Trump sparked controversy by calling for the arrest of Chicago’s mayor and Illinois’ governor, leading to fears over the possible implementation of the Insurrection Act.

– Unconventional Peace Talks:

A video circulating suggests a departure from customary negotiation practices between Israel and Hamas. It purportedly depicts Hamas and Israeli negotiators together in the peace talks in Egypt. However, sources involved in the talks have alleged that the video combines footage from disparate meetings, suggesting that the direct encounter between negotiators did not actually take place. Regardless, the peace talks have achieved the first step in US President Donald Trump’s peace plan.
