The investigation was launched after Polymarket, an online prediction platform, highlighted betting associated with military operations. Israel’s law enforcement and Defence Ministry have emphasised the seriousness of these acts and have pledged to act decisively against the misuse of classified information.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is preparing for a complex set of discussions with US President Donald Trump on the fast tracking of a nuclear agreement with Iran. An Israeli op-ed has criticised Israel’s perceived hubris, suggesting it led to dangerous military decisions against Iran and an overestimation of Israel’s abilities. Foreign Ministry Spokesman in Tehran, Esmaeil Baghaei Hamaneh, addressed recent Israel-US mediated talks in Oman, aimed at examining Washington’s seriousness concerning threats against Iran. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to assert his opposition to any agreement focused solely on Iran’s nuclear program during closed discussions at the White House.
