– Historic Summit Set for Egypt:

U.S. President Donald Trump is set to attend a historic summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, where the official end of the Gaza war will be proclaimed. French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres are among the expected attendees. The summit aims to discuss post-war rebuilding plans for Gaza and the need to resume peace negotiations.

– Israeli Citizens Express Unease:

The persistent two-year conflict has raised various concerns among Israelis such as potential military strategy deviations and fears that Hamas might exploit the peace agreement for personal gain. Many doubt the effectiveness of U.S President Trump’s peace plans as expectations for the end of the war have been repeatedly defeated.

– Hamas Operatives Target Abu Shabab Militia:

Recently, Hamas attacked the “Abu Shabab” militia, accused of collaborating with Israel. Abu Shabab’s leader criticized Hamas’s October attack decision as militarily failed, but also criticized Israel’s collective punishment policy, declaring their organization primarily for defense and humanitarian aid.

– U.S. Aid to Israel and Post-War Relations:

Research from Brown University shows that the U.S. has spent $32 billion over the past two years aiding Israel in the war. Envoys of President Trump, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are considered significant in the agreement between Israel and Hamas, facilitating peace negotiations in Miami and Jerusalem.

– Global Protests Continue Post Ceasefire:

Despite the recent ceasefire and end of the Gaza war, protests against Israel took place in Sydney, Australia. Demonstrators expressed indignation over Israel’s systemic oppression in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, considered by many as a form of apartheid.

– Violence Escalates in Southern Lebanon:

Recently, Israel launched several airstrikes in southern Lebanon. Lebanese network Al-Mayadeen reported that the strikes targeted bulldozers and additional engineering equipment. This escalation of violence stirs doubts among political observers about the stability of the recent ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

– Political Outreach amidst Upcoming Elections:

With elections less than a month away, candidate Dietrich “Denny” Mamani is courting the Jewish vote, visiting progressive synagogues and Hasidic communities in Brooklyn. His outreach indicates a broad-based strategy for electoral support.

– Netanyahu’s Announcement Receives Mixed Response:

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s announcement of five principles to end the war in August 2025 has drawn doubts and disapproval as only one out of the five conditions was achieved. The failure to meet these conditions raises questions about Netanyahu’s definition of victory and his ability to bring peace to the region.
