– Turkey Asserts Growing Influence in Middle East:

Emerging reports indicate a growing Turkish influence across the Middle East, with Turkey allegedly playing a mediating role between Hezbollah and Syria. Leading Middle Eastern analysts suggest increasing communication channels between Turkey and Hezbollah and Turkey’s opposition to a maritime border deal between Lebanon and Cyprus are signs of Turkey expanding its regional presence. Simultaneously, the situation sparks fears within Lebanon of potential fallout from regional power struggles as the new regional order remains uncertain.

– International Women Leaders Conference emphasizes Equality in AI:

Haifa, Israel witnessed the convergence of 30 international leaders at the 32nd International Women Leaders Conference, focusing on gender equality in the age of artificial intelligence (AI). The invitees, hailing from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Pacific Islands, included high-ranking ex-ministers, parliamentarians, and executives. Highlighting the delicate balance between technological and social innovation, the conference urged restraint against over-regulating AI, especially in smaller nations.

– International Intervention Sought for Hezbollah Disarmament:

At a Paris meeting, representatives from France, Saudi Arabia, and the USA met with General Rudolf Heikal, the commander of the Lebanese army, to deliberate on how to best disarm Hezbollah. The officials agree that the Lebanese army cannot undertake this task alone, thereby offering support from French and American military experts along with UN forces. The diplomats have expressed concerns about a possible ceasefire collapse and fears the Lebanese President might decrease disarmament efforts due to the forthcoming 2026 elections.

– Israel gas deal Under Criticism:

Critics are scrutinizing Israel’s recent gas deal with Egypt, approved under mounting pressure from the Trump administration, for its potential to monopolize the Israeli gas sector. Chevron, a major US company, holds substantial stakes in Israel’s gas reserves, controlling about 90% of the nation’s gas reservoirs. Economists and Michal Halperin, the Israeli Competition Commissioner, warn of threats to the country’s energy system due to the lack of competition. They forewarn the deal may push up future gas prices and call for measures to ensure energy security and stable prices.
