– Israeli Relations with Syria:
Between 2013 and 2018, Israel supported several rebel groups in Syria’s southern regions to discourage Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian-backed militias. However, after the regime and Hezbollah regained control of Southern Syria in 2018, Israeli aid ceased.
– Shift in Israeli Defense Policy:
In October, Israel moved from a containment policy to a proactive, preemptive strategy. Critics view this as aggressive, but Israel maintains it’s necessary to ensure national security and neutralize threats early on.

More than two years after a disastrous Simchat Torah where over 1,200 lives were lost, critics argue the lack of an established state inquiry reflects poorly on the government. They accuse it of avoiding investigation, perhaps due to underestimating Hamas’s threat.

Several Israeli soldiers were injured during clashes in Rafah, east Gaza Strip, instigating a counterstrike from Israeli Air Forces. The wounded have been evacuated, and the Rafah crossing will now allow Gaza Strip residents to exit into Egypt.

An encouraging meeting between Israel, Lebanon, and the US took place recently, where discussions of potential economic collaboration came to the forefront. However, Israel insists on Hezbollah’s disarmament before any cooperation takes place.

Israelis have expressed hope for a flourishing Germany and looks to deepen collaboration efforts. Israeli systems are positioned to be integral to Germany’s renewed military power.
– Thai Abduction Victim Returns Posthumously:
Thai national, Suttisak Rintalek, who was abducted and reportedly killed in the Gaza Strip, has been returned to Israel. His body will be returned to Thailand for burial.
– Food Poisoning Incident at Ben Gurion School:
A group of students and teachers from Ben Gurion School in Ness Ziona was hospitalized under the suspicion of food poisoning during an annual trip to Eilat.
– UN Rapporteur Francesca Albanese Controversy:
Francesca Albanese, the special rapporteur for Palestinian territories, has caused conflict with her anti-Israel views. Various Italian cities are rethinking their decision to award her honorary citizenship.
