– US Envoy Visits Gaza and Israel Controversy:

US envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, along with US Central Command’s commander, Bradley Cooper, visited an IDF position in northern Gaza. The purpose was to facilitate and oversee the IDF’s withdrawal as per the agreement made between Israel and the Hamas terrorist organization.

– The National Education Association (NEA) Controversy:

The NEA has sparked controversy after distributing an email to its three million members which included a map labeling Israel as “Palestine”. Since this incident, the institution has been under scrutiny, with critics, including the Anti-Defamation League, calling for a public apology from the association.

– US Aid Towards Israel’s War Efforts:

Research by Brown University indicates that the US has invested $32 billion in the last two years towards aid for Israel in its war efforts. About $23 billion was invested in the first year, while the remaining amount was invested in the second year under the Trump administration.

– Hamas Versus “Abu Shabab” Militia:

Hamas has targeted the “Abu Shabab” militia, which has insisted that they are a national and independent Palestinian body aimed at defending civilians and promoting a peaceful Palestinian society. Despite the attack, the militia firmly maintains that their weaponry exists solely for the defence of Palestinians from internal anarchy.

– Potential End to Israel-Hamas War:

US President, Donald Trump announced that a first-phase peace deal has been signed between Israel and Hamas, to retract Israeli forces to an agreed line and release all captives. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called it a “big day for Israel,” yet there’s cautious optimism as negotiations for subsequent phases proceed.

– Airstrikes in Lebanon:

Reports indicate multiple airstrikes in Lebanon, targeting bulldozers and other engineering equipment in southern Lebanon, leading to a fatality and several injuries. The airstrikes were widely criticized due to their impact on civilian installations.

– Impact on Israel’s International Standing Post-Conflict:

As the recent conflict concludes, experts suggest two possible future scenarios for Israel’s international standing. The optimistic scenario anticipates a return to the “enlightened world.” The challenging but more likely scenario will see Israel continuing to grapple with diplomatic and economic consequences for years to come.
