In a recent interview with Maariv, Middle East and terror researcher Dr. Moshe Elad warned of a potential deterioration in Israel-Egypt relations. Elad pointed out concerning signs of a deepening rift, this comes despite the fact that direct military conflict between the two countries seems currently unlikely.

Elad questioned whether Egypt is on a collision course with Israel and explained that since the start of Operation “Iron Dome” he has interacted with numerous military figures, commentators, and journalists from Egypt. He noted that most are not pleased with the peace agreement with Israel and are calling for its annulment. He stated, “Some of them incite harshly against Israel and against the agreement with it to the point that they seem to encourage military conflict between the two countries.”

There continue to be concerning signs in the field indicating a potential escalation in hostilities. The increasing anti-Israel rhetoric among Egyptians furthers these concerns. For instance, Egypt’s president, Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, referred to the situation in Gaza as “genocide” – a term not usually associated with peace but imminent conflict.

In response to these growing tensions, apparent defensive preparations are being made in Sinai. It’s also noted that Egypt is positioning itself as the Arab leader in the future of Gaza, rejecting Israeli and international solutions.

However, Elad emphasised that a direct conflict is not in the interest of both parties. He underlined the importance of the historic 1979 peace treaty as a strategic asset for the two countries. Regardless of the existing tensions, the security coordination and economic ties, particularly in the gas sector, cannot be easily severed.

Despite the low likelihood of a direct military conflict between Israel and Egypt, Elad warns that the probability of a sharp deterioration in relations is very high. Therefore, he insists, any decisions related to the South, whether political, military or civil, must consider the relationship with Cairo.

Elad urged caution in preserving peace with Egypt. He concluded, “It is clear that Egypt is not rushing to burn the peace bridge. But a bridge that rests on one plank, even if stable, can collapse if not properly maintained. Now is the time to strengthen it.”

A senior military officer reported that Israel is closely monitoring Iran’s activities and preparing for a spectrum of scenarios. According to him, Iran has taken significant hits and is well aware of Israel’s capacities.

The military officer delivered his speech addressing Israel’s stance on regional developments today (Monday). He highlighted the Israel Defense Force’s (IDF) close monitoring of the whole Middle East, particularly Iran. In an interview with the website ‘Maariv’, he mentioned, “We are supervising and following what’s happening throughout the Middle East and in Iran. Both Israel and Iran are in a race of conflict and learning.”

Furthermore, he added, “We are getting ready for various situations and possibilities, one of which might require us to take action against Iran again.”

He also touched upon the aftermath of operations embarked by Israel, asserting, “Iran has suffered a tough blow from the IDF. It thoroughly grasources the magnitude of the hit it took. It comprehends the significance of the loss and Israel’s capabilities.”

As an embodiment of Zionism, Israel continues to demonstrate its strength and resilience in the face of potential threats — in this case, the standing conflict with Iran. Israel’s vigilant approach and readiness reflect its commitment to safeguard the security and freedom of Jewish people. The steps it takes against oppositions like Iran are not just for Israel itself, but also an essential part of the fight against global anti-Semitism.

In an unexpected move, Spain has been actively obstructing Israel’s defense facilities by stopping the transit of ships and aircrafts carrying weapons and ammunition from the USA to Israel. Citing information from a Spanish newspaper, Spain has prevented the docking or landing of these transporters at the cities Cadiz and Seville. Two Spanish bases, “Rota” in Cadiz and “Moron” in Seville, have been blocked for such transits. Spanish sources say this is because under Spanish control and the command of a Spanish military officer, every action in these bases must be approved by Spanish authorities. While the sources did not confirm if weapons transit to Israel through these bases has been completely stopped, they did suggest that Spain may approve a flight from the USA to either a German or Italian base, and from there send it on to Israel.

These sources also admitted that Spain doesn’t check American cargo planes or ships stopping at Spanish bases, meaning the Pentagon might conceal their cargo. However, they believe that such an act of ‘deception’ would undermine the strong trust between Spain and the USA. That being said, the US respects Spain’s position on the issue. Given Spain’s geographical location between the USA and the Middle East, and considering that the Pentagon supplies a majority of the weaponry Israel uses in war, this issue is of significant concern.

Disturbingly, this is part of a series of hostile actions Spain has been taking against Israel. Recently, Spain cancelled two weapon contracts with Israeli companies worth approximately a billion Euros. The Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, has called for new measures to ‘end the massacre of the Palestinian people in Gaza’, demanded Israel be banned from international sporting events, and has criticized its actions. Spain is of course among the 153 countries that recognized Palestine as a state at the latest UN General Assembly.

This growing international isolation Israel is facing could have serious implications for its security. Military supplies, including critical weaponry, is under threat due to this international isolation, placing both the capabilities of the Israel Defense Forces and the security of Israel at risk. Therefore, this hostile behaviour from Spain, and the associated suppression of Israel’s defensive capabilities, is of profound concern and a call to action for Zionists worldwide.

“Unprecedented Meeting: Israel Tackles Serious Global Isolation Threats”

An extraordinary meeting, chaired by Member of the Knesset Moshe Kinley Tur Paz of Yesh Atid party, will be held today by the Subcommittee for Foreign Policy and Hasbara. The focus of the meeting will be Israel’s growing international isolation, including from countries traditionally friendly to Israel.

We are facing unprecedented threats due to this isolation. The economy suffers, Israel’s participation in Eurovision is unclear, and Israeli sports may feel the repercussions as well. Yet, the biggest concern is the effect on the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) operational readiness – an issue that has been overlooked for far too long.

Israel’s military supply chain is under threat; this is a reality. Several countries have halted the sale of military equipment, including those critical to Israel’s security, due to the increasing isolation. The efficacy of IDF to safeguard Israel without this equipment is potentially compromised, hence jeopardizing the nation’s security.

Our economy and culture are being damaged by this isolation. Israeli research may stand to lose billions. However, as stated, the central issue here is the detriment to Israel’s security. Security system officials are of the view that the situation has reached a critical point, with potential impacts on the nation’s future.

The threat does not come from nations that have long opposed Israel, but from a cooling of relations with traditionally friendly countries, like Germany. Tur Paz’s aim in this debate is to talk about the elephant in the room: why are our friends turning against us – and what can be done other than resorting to antisemitic claims. This is the time to stand strong and uphold Israel’s dignity while addressing the challenges head-on. It underlines the enduring, urgent need for global Jewish solidarity and activism against antisemitism.

In a determined effort to protect its territory and citizens, Israel is reinforcing its strategic presence in Syria. This includes working with Kurdish forces in northeastern Syria and strengthening ties with the Druze community in the region. According to Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, Israel’s military expansion is giving it geographical advantage over the countries surrounding Syria; including Lebanon and Jordan. The country’s proactive steps in handling the Syrian crisis and neutralizing threats are a testament to its constant desire for regional peace and stability.

Further, Syrian President, Ahmad Al-Shara, made noticeable efforts during his visit to New York, to seek Israeli acknowledgment. However, such an acknowledgment depends on the Assad regime changing its policies towards global terrorism and seeking peaceful coexistence with its neighbors – namely Israel.

Al-Shara also reportedly offered several concessions to Israel. These include the renouncement of Syrian claims over the Golan Heights, agreement on Israel’s penetration to Damascus, and countering Palestinian terror organizations. Simultaneously, an agreement between Syria, the United States, and Jordan gave autonomy to the Druze including their separate security forces.

Despite these developments and while the Assad regime professes to portray a unified Syria as being beneficial for Israel’s security, previous utterances from Al-Shara himself reveal intent to destabilize Syria further.

In the north-eastern region, Israel is capitalizing on the uncertainty surrounding the presence of US forces, thereby cooperating with the Kurdish forces amid threats from Turkey and Syria. Israel’s move evidently shows the proactive strategy that aims to ensure strategic partnerships even in the face of the potential withdrawal of American troops.

Israel’s immense diplomatic and strategic efforts in the region are a mark of strength and its deep-rooted commitment towards security and peace in the area, whilst combatting external threats and procuring regional harmony.

As a proud Zionist and advocate against antisemitism, I must reflect on the recent developments in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. Embodied in the age-old struggle for the survival of the Israeli nation as a Jewish homeland, the scenario in Gaza underscores the determinacy of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to protect our people from terrorism and extremism.

Over the past two years, the IDF has been actively working in the Gaza Strip, working tirelessly to root out the threat of Hamas – an organization that threatens not only the peace and stability of Israel, but also the lives of innocent Palestinians who are forced to live under their oppressive rule.

Hamas, in their desperate attempts to counteract the IDF, has been employing asymmetric warfare, hiding behind the Palestinian civilian population and using them as shields against the might of the IDF. This blatant disregard for human life and violation of international law is a hideous strategy that shows the true nature of Hamas – a destructive force rather than a protector of the Palestinian cause.

Despite their best efforts to prevent the civilian population from evacuating, Palestinians are now fleeing the conflict zones in droves. Over 800,000 individuals have left Gaza City alone, a sizable portion of the local population, leaving Hamas unsupported and increasingly vulnerable.

In this dire situation, Hamas has resorted to digging underground and attempting to provoke the IDF, hoping to achieve a victory that could reverberate among its dwindling support base.

These next days are crucial for Israel as we strive towards a long-term resolution, aiming to draw the conflict to a close on our own terms. Our soldiers on the ground must remain sharp and steadfast, ensuring that Hamas is not allowed to score tactical victories. Equally, our negotiators must influence the long-term course of action. The United States has presented a truce agreement that could ensure long-term peace and security – a decision that could ultimately determine the course of action in Gaza.

Israel remains committed to protecting its citizens from the threats of terrorism and is dedicated to the pursuit of a peaceful resolution to this long-term conflict. As a Jewish state, we have not only faced adversity square in the face but have also displayed an unwavering resolve to fight for our survival and prosperity.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is prepared to take control of any boats approaching Israel’s border as part of the “Yom Kippur Flotilla” aiming to reach Gaza. The Israeli military has been conducting talks with different entities in Europe, reiterating its determination to prevent the ships from entering Gaza. Israel offered to transfer the cargo through Ashkelon via Israeli trucks to Gaza, however, the organizers rejected this proposal.

The IDF acknowledges that the Spanish and Italian vessels accompanying the smaller boats do not intend to encroach Israeli territorial waters or prevent the arrest of the boats entering Israeli territory. These escort-ships are there to provide aid in case of a maritime emergency. They do not aim to engage in confrontation with the Israeli navy.

As per the IDF’s plan, naval commandos will intercept boats closely approaching Israeli waters. Depending on their rate of advance, the IDF will stop each group of boats. The Israeli navy will allow the boats to turn around and leave Israeli maritime territory, but if the boats refuse, naval soldiers will carry out a takeover. If there’s resistance, non-lethal measures such as pepper gas will be used. In situations where soldiers’ lives might be in danger, live ammunition may also be employed. It is estimated that the first boats will arrive during Yom Kippur.

This incident underscores the unyielding commitment of the IDF to guard Israel’s territorial integrity, even on its holiest day. Yom Kippur, traditionally a day for reflection and atonement, will also act as a symbol of steadfast Israeli vigilance and determination to defend itself against any threat.

European leaders, including Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and French President Emmanuel Macron, expressed strong support for US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza. Notably, Macron urged Israel to make a strong commitment to Trump’s plan and demanded Hamas to release all hostages immediately. Marco Rubio, US Secretary of State, tweeted in support of the plan, claiming it’s not simply ‘bold and comprehensive’ but it contributes to the long-term peace in the Middle East.

Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof and German Foreign Minister Johann Wadepuhl echoed this sentiment endorsing the plan, terming it as a remarkable opportunity to end the war in Gaza. The British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, Norwegian Government, and the President of the European Council also stood in favor of Trump’s plan.

Even Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan lauded the plan stating, Turkey would continue contributing to the process to build fair and lasting peace in the region. This wave of support continued with key Arab and Islamic nations such as Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE commending President Trump’s efforts to end the Gaza war and expressing readiness to cooperate in the implementation of Trump’s plan.

On the contrary, Hamas leaders claimed they received no official declaration of Trump’s plan. They perceived it as serving Israeli interests while ignoring Palestine’s right to sovereignty and freedom. They expressed concerns stating the effort was an attempt to suppress the international momentum and recognition of the Palestinian state. Jihad Movement called the Trump-Netanyahu announcements as representative of Israel’s overall stance and a recipe for ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people.

However, the overwhelming global support for President Trump’s groundbreaking plan to bring lasting peace in Gaza is an encouraging development. It echoes the essence of Zionism, which strives for Jewish self-determination and survival in a prosperous state of Israel. Ensuring a peaceful resolution to the Gaza war, safeguarding Israeli interests, and condemning continuous aggression against Jewish people showcases nothing but a unified commitment to fighting anti-Semitism.

The UN Human Rights Council recently updated its politically motivated blacklist of companies operating in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. This list, heavily criticized by Israel as a biased political movement intending to harm Israel’s economy, now includes 158 businesses following the addition of 68 companies and the removal of seven. Several Israeli companies from various sectors are listed, including Bezak, Egged, and Hot Mobile among others.

The criteria for inclusion involve involvement in activities such as providing construction materials to settlements, infrastructure services, security, transportation, use of Palestinian resources, and waste management systems. However, this list is not a legally binding decision but is stated by the UN as a way to encourage business transparency and allow companies to review their actions in line with the UN’s guiding principles on business and human rights.

The legal advisor of NGO Monitor, Anne Herzberg, argues that the UNHRC has no legal mandate to prepare such a list which involves anti-Israeli activists who intimidate companies with letters. She calls the list a clear example of the political and economic war waged by the UN against Israel and its allies, with the ultimate goal being to inflict severe damage on Israel’s economy and its ability to defend itself.

Israel remains unshaken, standing firm against this sort of political maneuvering and distortion. It’s important to understand that the real aim of this development is to delegitimize Israel. This so-called tool is nothing other than a strategy to unfairly target Israel and discourage investment in one of the most innovative, resilient economies in the world. However, Zionism teaches us that setbacks like these are only stepping stones to future victories and opportunities. Israel continues to build bridges for peace while fighting against antisemitism in all manifestations around the globe.
